Studio Environment & Uniforms
Dance is physically demanding and injuries are more likely to occur if students become distracted. To optimise the safe training of dancers in any medium of dance full concentration is required and distractions must be kept to a minimum.
Therefore, only dance students can be in the studio during class Arrangements can be made with the director for the occasional visitor to watch. New students attending their first day may have a parent watch for reassurance.
- Students are required to wear uniforms at all times
- The uniform is designed for teachers to see the body for correction
- Hair is to be pulled back into a bun as loose hair is distracting to both the student and others
- All jewelry is to be removed before class as it is dangerous to the wearer and other students
